Honda Civic Trunk Wont Close. What can I do to keep it closed? I want to change the latch.
If the trunk on a Honda Civic will not close the locking mechanism may be jammed.
Sometimes there is a little lever on the trunk lock mechanism that is moved and it will prevent the front lever from activation the latch.

My trunk latch bounces open sometimes and it just a pain to close. I looked at the cable and it seems to be fine - i can feel that it's tight and if I pull the handle to open the trunk it moves just fine. Neither the top nor the bottom latches are.
